The Field Technologist is responsible for all aspects of Customer equipment Installation testing and commissioning, as well as Hub and POP equipment installation and all commissioning activity in the Hubs and POP’s for customer orders and network installation’s. The Manager, IT & Systems Support will provide IT leadership and technical support for Cogeco Data Services and oversee the day-to-day IT operations and related systems with through your team of Systems Analysts who maintain and support a set of core systems applications. The primary responsibilities will be to provide management, leadership and direction to the team and ensure that all core systems availability meets with business expectations and needs. The Manager, IT & Systems Support will also be accountable to align IT and Information Systems (IS) to the needs of the business and CDS strategy and provide solutions to the CDS business units’ processes through the analysis of requirements, participation in design, project management, testing, implementation and maintenance of the core CDS systems and applications inclusive of the physical IT infrastructure. The Data Centre Technician is responsible for all aspects of the Data Centre and Co-location Facilities which includes evaluating data centre infrastructure requirements and coordinating necessary resources to prepare space for new customers and equipment. The Director, Carrier Relations is responsible for driving the strategic direction of carrier relations as well as the direct partnership management for the Cogeco Data Services’ (CDS) third party telecommunications network architecture. The position will formulate strategic plans for developing relationships with carriers by working with them to make sure that the product is delivered on time, efficiently, and to quality standards. The incumbent will be required to broaden company scope and strategy on different programs and policies by procuring and using services from a broad selection of carrier in order to achieve company growth. The position will also be responsible for the development of a strategic plan for infrastructure access planning as it pertains to reach and access. Must be able to keep pace with the changing telecom technologies and companies to ensure that the CDS partners compliment the current and future line of products and services in key geographies as well as to provide access to infrastructure where required. The Fibre Allocator distributes, follows up, provides guidance and answers inquiries regarding fibre placement. The position conducts field investigations, updates files and records; analyses information; prepares reports; liaises with internal and external departments / third parties regarding plant; prepares plans and permit applications.
